Day 3 and plans for today (the 4th of July)

On day 3 of the Shutdown, Rise Up convergence, we shared a community meal and had working groups on health, childcare, outreach, food, skill-shares, and fun. Lots of exciting projects are in the works, so if you’d like to join in the organizing, come down to Powderhorn Park any day of the shutdown at 5pm for free food and 6pm for discussions.

Today, Day 4, we’re meeting at 5pm for a PEOPLE’S POTLUCK at the Northwest corner of Powderhorn Park. We’re bringing food to share, including lots of corn for grilling. We’ll be handing out flyers and talking with the thousands of people who will be in the park for the firework celebration.

Also, for those of you with artistic inclinations, we’re having a banner-making party at 4pm, meeting at the northside of the park building.

Finally, be sure to check out our new, interactive map of Twin Cities resources: http://radres.tk, which includes locations of free food, clothing, health care, and more. Let us know if you have more resources to add.
